UGREEN HomeAgent: A Local AI Hub Is Coming to Kickstarter. What Installers Should Check. AutoMatter

What UGREEN announced

UGREEN has unveiled HomeAgent, which it calls an agentic AI local hub, along with a set of its own cameras and accessories. The idea is to put storage, AI processing and device control in one box inside the house instead of in somebody else’s cloud. The company is also launching a separate MagFlow line of wireless chargers, but the hub is the part that matters for installed systems.

The lineup, as announced:

  • HomeAgent HA100: the base hub. Per the announcement, it stores files, photos and surveillance footage locally with no monthly storage fee, and core storage, security, file management and smart home functions can run on the local network.
  • HomeAgent HA100 Pro: faster network connectivity and more AI horsepower, with voice-based rule creation and context-aware device control.
  • MasterAgent MA100: built around an NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000, quoted at up to 2070 FP4 TFLOPS. UGREEN says developers can extend it with packages or skills.
  • Cameras: SynCare Indoor Cam ID500 Pro, PoE Cam OD600 Pro and Battery Cam OD800 Pro, plus a smart speaker and Gallery LCD smart frames.

On the software side, UGREEN says the hub recognizes people, vehicles, pets and packages, summarizes events, and lets you search recorded footage by keyword. You talk to it through an assistant called Uliya. It lists Matter support for bringing compatible devices together under local control, and says it works with a growing list of compatible third-party devices. The announcement does not say which third-party devices, so that is unknown for now.

Pricing and timing

Pre-orders for the HA100, HA100 Pro and MA100 are open through UGREEN’s AIoT store until a Kickstarter campaign starts on Oct. 27, 2026. A deposit starting at $50 locks in a Super Early Bird price of 50% off. The announcement gives no final prices for the hubs or ship dates. The other AIoT accessories arrive as part of the Kickstarter.

What it means for an installed system

This is a crowdfunded product from a company new to this category, so treat it that way. A few things we would check before putting money down:

  • Matter scope. “Matter support” can mean the hub controls Matter devices, exposes devices to other ecosystems, or both. The announcement does not say. If you already run Home Assistant, Apple Home or another controller, find out whether HomeAgent can sit alongside it or wants to be the boss.
  • Camera compatibility. The announcement only names UGREEN’s own cameras. Whether it takes ONVIF or RTSP streams from the cameras you already have is not stated. Do not assume your existing PoE cameras will work.
  • What “local” covers. UGREEN says core functions can operate on the local network. That is not the same as everything working with the internet unplugged. Ask which features, such as the voice assistant, still need the cloud.
  • Deposit risk. A deposit is a bet on a Kickstarter that has not launched yet. If you need something working this year, this is not it.

For a client who wants no subscription fees for camera storage, a local hub is an appealing pitch. But we would wait for the Kickstarter details and for independent reviews before recommending it for a paying job.

Our take

The pitch of local storage, local AI and Matter in one box is the right direction. The details that decide whether it fits an existing system are not published yet. Watch the Oct. 27 launch, read the compatibility list when it appears, and hold off on deposits until it does.
